. _ Scholarship

My scholarship is focused on the tension between automation and expression in the context of music improvisation and computation. Through examining improvisation, agency, and technology, both in performance and non-performance contexts, my work attempts to articulate the shifting relationships between musicians and new computationally driven instruments and has implications for design, performance, and ethics.
